ROAD SIGNS

Signs Plus has been manufacturing road and traffic signs in regional Victoria since 1992. We produce regulatory traffic signs, tourist guide signs, street name plates, directional signs and custom council signage — all built in our Swan Hill workshop and delivered Australia-wide.

From a single replacement Stop sign through to a full wayfinding rollout for a shire council or national park, every sign we make is designed to the Australian Standards, printed on solid 2mm aluminium with 3M Diamond Grade reflective sheeting, and finished with a UV laminate rated for up to 12 years outdoors. Real people, real craftsmanship, real Australian manufacturing.

Why Choose Signs Plus for Road Signs?

Trusted by government, councils and national parks

Our signs are found on roads and in reserves for the NSW Government, Victoria State Government, NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, and many shire councils across Australia.

Three decades of regional Australian manufacturing

Family-owned and operated since 1992, we build every sign in-house at our Swan Hill workshop. Over 80 years of combined signwriting, printing and design experience stands behind every job — and every dollar you spend supports Australian manufacturing and regional employment.

Materials chosen for the Australian climate

Only premium sheeting goes out our door — 3M Diamond Grade, Avery Dennison and Arlon retroreflective films, 3M UV-stable laminates, and Roland digital printers. Your sign is engineered to hold up against sun, rain, heat and cold for the long haul.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your road signs compliant with Australian Standards?
Yes. All our regulatory and traffic signs are designed to meet AS 1742 (Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices) and the retroreflectivity requirements of AS/NZS 1906.1.
What reflectivity class do you use?
Our standard substrate is 3M Diamond Grade Class 1W reflective sheeting — the highest class commonly specified for Australian roads. We can also produce signs in Class 1 or Class 2 where the application calls for it.
How long will a Signs Plus road sign last outdoors?
Our aluminium signs are built with 3M clear UV laminate rated for up to 12 years outdoors in typical Australian conditions. Most signs are made on solid 1.6mm aluminium with DMR or UNISTRUT bracing for large formats.
Do you supply posts, brackets and installation?
We supply signs complete with DMR or UNISTRUT bracing where specified, and can advise on post and bracket requirements. On-site installation is usually handled by your local contractor — but we're happy to quote full supply where required.
What's the lead time for a custom road sign?
Most standard signs are out the door within a few working days. Large custom runs, unusual shapes, or multi-site council rollouts are quoted with a firm lead time at the time of order.
Can you replicate an existing damaged or vandalised sign?
Yes — send us a photograph with a dimension reference and we'll replicate the original, right down to the reflective class, typography and colours. This is one of the most common jobs we do for councils.
