At Signs Plus we have the capability to laser cut and etch a wide variety of materials. This includes but is not limited to acrylic, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, wood, plastic and engraving laminate. We currently work with tight tolerances as our lasers are accurate in both cutting and etching.
In the past we have cut parts for musical equipment, signs, electrical panels, control plates, models, prototypes and gaskets for medical equipment. We can cater for specific cutting requirements, please don't hesitate to contact us to discuss.
We operate both CO2 and fibre lasers. With the CO2 lasers we usually cut acrylics, polypropylene, wood, rubber, leather and various other materials. Unsuitable materials to laser cut include but not limited to are plastics that contain PVC. We generally stock acrylic in clear are 1.5mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm and 10mm. Limited colours are stocked in 3mm, 4.5mm and 6mm. White polypropylene is usually used for stencils and stocked in 0.38mm, 0.8mm and 1.4mm thickness.
Our fibre laser is used for cutting metals. We specialise in cutting stainless steel, aluminium and brass. Generally we cut stainless steel up to 3mm thick, Aluminium up to 2mm and 2mm brass. Our stock stainless steel can be supplied in marine grade (#316) with a brushed finish in 1.2mm, 1.6mm and 3mm, also 1.6mm marine grade stainless in mill finish.
